HYDROPONICS

TheLejweleputsw Development Agency (LDA) commissioned Mmakidi Consulting to undertake a feasible study on the establishemnt of a Hydroponics Project in the Lejweleputswa Distric Municipality. The feasibility study was aimed at determining the technical ,financila and economic viability of establishing a Hydroponics Project within the district,if feasibity will help in the creation of job opportunities for residents of the district as well as contributed to the economy of the area and the province in general. The sector is important as it provides food,jobs as well as raw materials that can be used in the manufacturing and processing industries.The sector contributes approximately 7% to the provincial gross domestic product (PGDP) while 14% of South Africa›s agricultural GDP is general in the Free State and 14.5% of South Africa›s commencial farming takes place in the province (stateSA,2009)
